Abstract

The objective of this article is to analyze the efficiency of environmental policies in Peru. Concerning the study methodology, the research design is documentary and qualitative in approach. The scope of the study is descriptive and of non-experimental cross-sectional design. Regarding the sample, a non-probabilistic sample of 60 articles was used. The databases used for the research were Scopus, Science Direct, Scielo and Alicia-Concytec. The UN Dag Hammarskjöld Library and the ECLAC and IPCC repositories were also used. The inclusion criteria taken into account for the selection of articles were established by the keywords: environmental policy, environment, sustainability, climate change, Peru. The documentary review was delimited in the temporal space of the last 4 years. The results showed the slow progress regarding the achievement of environmental sustainability objectives. Although the government has implemented guidelines for the fulfillment of sustainability, in practice there are few positive results. In conclusion, it was mentioned that Peru has a very diverse ecosystem, but at the same time, it is vulnerable to climate change and it is necessary to preserve it.
